This is a great city to walk around or explore the Castillo San Felipe Fortress, which was built in the 17th century.

ISLA DE PROVIDENCIA

In November of 2020 this island experienced a stage 5 hurricane, damaging 98% of its infrastructure. 

As it continues to rebuild, this island still offers great beach and mountain views as well as a warm and welcoming local community. 

Traveling to this island for a couple days will be the perfect retreat from San Andres as it is not commonly known or visited by most tourists. 

GETTING THERE:

Isla de Providencia does have its own airport (PVA), which can be accessed via direct flight. 

There other option is to take a ferry from San Andres, which must be arranged locally. 

If flying into San Andres, the airport will be Gustavo Rojas Pinilla International Airport (ADZ).
