About the Business
MHPHOTOCO was founded in 2009 in an effort to turn my passion into a profession. A website was launched in order to showcase my work, and I began making calendars as means of getting my artwork onto walls around the world.
In July 2012, I moved to Oregon with the intention of selling at different events/fairs throughout Seattle, Portland and San Francisco. Fate had other ideas when it presented an opportunity to work on cruise ships, sailing the world while perfecting my skills and building a portfolio most people only dream of.
Through the course of my travels, Alaska stole my heart and I knew it was somewhere I needed to return to in order to thrive. I moved to Anchorage in July 2021 and spent the first year traveling around as much of the state as I could, not only to explore but to build a photo collection that I could share with others. It was at this point that I completely rebuilt my website and began brainstorming how I could turn this idea into sustainable income that would allow me to live out my dreams.
In May of 2023, I began selling outdoors, using my vehicle as means of a pop-up shop and providing an assortment of artwork, gifts and souvenirs. From there, I continued to experiment with different events and markets as I established a name for myself within the community.
Through the holidays you can find me at various markets throughout Anchorage, with a majority of time spent at the Midtown Mall on weekends.
As of January 2025, you can also find me inside the Exchange Mall on JBER and I look forward to what additional opportunities will present themselves as I continue to grow.
Please reach out if you are interested in obtaining any additional information on where you can view my items locally, or feel free to browse my online shop at any time.
