Malta

With a population of over 530,000 people within a 120 square mile area, Malta is one of the most densely populated countries in Europe, as well as the world.

It is believed that the ancient Greeks called the island "Melitē," meaning "honey-sweet", possibly for Malta's unique production of honey, with an endemic subspecies of bees living on the island.
