Iceland


Ironically enough, for a place called "Iceland," there really isn't much ice. 

In fact, there are many more hot springs, waterfalls, geysers, volcanoes, black sand beaches and steaming lava fields.  

Weather did not work in my favor the couple of days I was there, but it is definitely a location I would love to return to!

AKUREYRI

This is a pretty little town that also serves a vital role in the country’s economy, being one of the main fishing centers and seaport.

GETTING THERE:

The main airport in Iceland will be Keflavík International Airport (KEF), located approximately 45 minutes from Reykjavik. 

From there you can fly into Akureyi (AEY) or obtain a rental car in Reykjavik if you are looking to drive through this beautiful country. 

(Akureyi is approximately 4.5 hours from Reykjavik.)

ISAFJORDUR

With a community of less than 3,000 people, the settlements of Isafjordur date back to the 9th century, with municipal status being granted in 1786. 

This location also offers many scenic escapes via shore excursion.

GETTING THERE:

The main airport in Iceland will be Keflavík International Airport (KEF), located approximately 45 minutes from Reykjavik. 

From there you can fly into Isafjordur (IFJ) or obtain a rental car in Reykjavik if you are looking to drive through this beautiful country. 

(Isafjordur is approximately 5.5 hours from Reykjavik.)

REYKJAVIK

Below you will find pictures from Gullfoss Waterfall, Geysir, and the Blue Lagoon which can all be accessed from Reykjavik. 

If visiting the Blue Lagoon, make sure to check out the mask bar, where you will find a mud-like substance consisting of silica and algae.  

When used together they are known to leave your skin feeling healthy, luminous and refreshed. 

GETTING THERE:

The main airport in Iceland will be Keflavík International Airport (KEF). 

From there, you can take a domestic flight to Reykjavík Domestic Airport (RKV) or obtain a rental car and drive. 

Keflavik Airport is located approximately 45 minutes from Reykjavik.
