ROASTING MARSHMALLOWS ATOP PACAYA VOLCANO
Volcano treks are an experience of their own, but when you include roasting marshmallows from inside the crater, it reaches a whole new level!
This tour took me on horseback to the summit of Pacaya Volcano in Guatemala. As smoke billows out of the lava rocks beneath, you can feel the heat as you traverse up the loose, ashy trail.
It was very cinematic, and the only word I could think of to describe it was "triumphant."
Once you find a good heat source you are then able to legitimately roast marshmallows, just like you would on an open fire. Be cautious of rubber shoes or anything else in this area that could easily melt!
