South Pacific

One of the most beautiful regions of the world to experience "paradise" is the South Pacific.

Home to many islands, including the U.S. territories of Hawaii, Guam, Saipan and American Samoa.  All of these locations can be visited without a passport if you are a U.S. citizen.

Beaches, mountains, waterfalls and volcanos make up this great region of the world along with snorkeling, surfing, skydiving, hiking and many historical monuments.

Although I have been to Guam once, it was very brief and all I was able to do was walk along the coast.  It was not enough of an experience for me to speak of what it is like and hope to return someday to fully explore it.

Here you will find information and pictures from the following locations:

HILO, HAWAII

Aloha! Hawaii is the only state not connected to North America and it is composed entirely of volcanic islands.

The state has eight main islands and other smaller islands and islets.  The main islands are Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe, Maui, and the Island of Hawaii.

There are plenty of waterfalls, flora and fauna to see at Rainbow falls and Akaka Falls State Park, which is located on the Big Island and pictured below.

SAIPAN, NORTHERN MARIANA ISLANDS

Located 1,300 miles off the cost of Japan in the North Mariana Islands is a historical and lesser-known island called Saipan.

It became part of U.S territory after winning a very heavy battle that took place during World War II.

It has beautiful coastlines including Bonzai Cliff, which is known most for its unfortunate suicides of Japanese citizens and soldiers looking for an easy escape.

There are still many caves, bunkers, war relics and memorial sites honoring those who lost their lives during this tragic time.
